Scanning Electron Microscope Images of Biofilms

We thought that we would share an SEM image of an MRSA biofilm, generated by our partners at Glasgow University, Scotland, UK. Biofilms are higher order structures that planktonic bacteria and fungi use to protect themselves, by forming colonies embedded in secreted extracellular matrices on surfaces. BluTest can offer a comprehensive service for biofilms from high throughput laboratory screening of biofilm disrupting and inhibiting antimicrobials, to troubleshooting biofilms in industrial settings.

If you want to find more about biofilms and the services we provide, we can put you in touch with one of our biofilm experts.
